FOUNDER'S CUP CHANGES FORMAT - Founder's Cup Invitational

The CAGCS Board of Directors invites you to attend the Founder’s Cup Invitational on September 29, 2008 at Olympia Fields Country Club. The Founder’s Cup event evolves each year and for 2008, the Board invites you to bring one or more guests from your club or course. The reasoning behind this change is three-fold:
• Raise awareness of our profession
• Communicate the value of our association
• Raise funds to contribute to the CDGA Turfgrass Program

The Directors of the CAGCS hope to make the Founder’s Cup an opportunity for golf course superintendents to build relationships with key officials at their golf clubs and courses. As superintendents, our roles are very important to the economic health of our facilities. The daily decisions that we make are formed from many years of experience, formal education, and present and future research. This event will offer your club/course official to get to know you and your profession while playing a top-rated course in Chicagoland.
In recent years the CAGCS has made efforts to give back to the Chicago District Golf Association’s Turfgrass Program (CDGA). Great strides have been made since its inception in 1986. This program leads others nationwide and continues to support our profession with specific research and trials to help us create better golfing conditions. Now, with the Sunshine Course in our own backyard, the CDGA’s Turfgrass Program continues to evolve and aid our profession. It is the intent of the CAGCS to support this program with funds derived from the Founder’s Cup.
The Founder’s Cup Invitational will be a two-man best ball net event between a CAGCS member and a course official (i.e. green chairman, park director, club president). If you do not wish to compete for “The Cup” please don’t hesitate to register for this one of a kind event. Singles, twosomes, threesomes and foursomes are all encouraged to attend. The CAGCS golf committee will take care of all the pairings.
Please plan on attending the Founder’s Cup Invitational on September 29, 2008 at Olympia Fields Country Club. We hope you are able to bring a key person from your operation. Again, this truly is a great opportunity to expose them to what we are all about and bring awareness to our profession.
